Friday (Weekly)            7:45:am -5:00 pm
First Tuesday & Wednesday (Monthly)
                                     4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Additional times may be added when necessary. Reservations must be made for testing or retesting.

There will be no testing when Flint Schools are closed due to holiday or inclement weather.

No Certificate of equivalency shall be granted ahead of the time when the applicants would have received a diploma had they remained in school.

Test 2 - The Social Studies Test
50 Questions - 1 hour 10 minutes

U.S. History 25%
World History 15%
Geography 15%

How Much Does the GED Cost?
What Do I need?

There is a $30 Non-Refundable seat deposit which must be paid prior to testing. The testing fee is $200. Retesting cost is $40 per test. Picture identification is necessary - a Michigan driver's license or other Michigan picture identification may be used.

A standard score of 410 or above on each of the five tests AND an average standard score of 450 on all five tests is required in order to pass the test.

Test 3 - The Science Test
60 Questions - 1 hour 20 minutes

Eighteen year olds must bring a letter from the last school attended stating when they would have graduated had they remained in school.

Should I Study Before Taking the Test?

Mott Adult High School offers labs which focus on study strategies and GED preparation. Practice tests for the GED may be taken when you enroll in one of our labs.

Test 4 - Language Arts Reading
40 Questions - 1 hour 5 minutes

Certificate of High School Equivalency

Adults who have not completed their formal high school education and who meet the eligibility requirements may qualify for a high school equivalency certificate.

The certificate is a warded to eligible applicants on the basis of the GED test evaluate the examinee's skills in five subject areas; Writing, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, and Mathematics.

If I Fail the GED Test

If testing results in failure, testing may be authorized after completion of intensive instruction in the area(s) of failure. Retesting may be allowed on the entire battery. There will be a $40 fee for each retest.

50 Questions - 1 hour 30 minutes

What Successful Completion of the GED Test Can Do For You

Successful completion of all five parts of the GED test entitles the examinee to a high school equivalency certificate. Certificate holders are eligible for most benefits available to high school graduates. This includes community colleges, apprenticeships, civil service, etc.
