Meet our new Principal, Mr. Richard Russell. A Flint native and product of the Flint Community Schools, he received his B.A. degree from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1999, his M.Ed. degree from Marygrove College in 2004, and his Ed. S. degree from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2014. He has 14 years of academic experience working in several capacities in public education as a paraprofessional, teacher, professional development chairperson, and professional negotiations team board member. For eight years in higher education, he has served as an Assistant Program Manager in pre-college programming for the Committed to Excellence and Opportunity Program out of the Office of Educational Opportunity Initiatives at UM-Flint. In addition, he has served as the Special Projects Coordinator in the Center for Educator Preparation where he helped organize such projects as the Christopher Paul Curtis Writing Adventure in conjunction with Flint Community Schools. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, biking and writing.
